Why can't Grassley fight for tax cuts or farm support for corn and leave ethanol out of it. The federal govnerment already support ethanol sales by subsidizing this non competitive fuel with at least a .05 cent kick back per gallon. Paul O'Neill, Mr. Bush's nominee for Treasury secretary, met Wednesday morning with Sen. Charles Grassley, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which would oversee tax cuts. Sen. Grassley urged Mr. O'Neill to push the portions of Mr. Bush's plan "that have broad bipartisan support" -- such as marriage-penalty relief and estate-tax relief.
