Sharply higher unemployment number on Friday and a rapidly deteriorating manufacturing and high tech sectors evidenced yet again by Ford's announcement of sharply declining sales is what spooked AG. He obviously saw the unemployment numbers that will be released Friday and didn't like what he saw. I don't think AG will discourage GWB's tax cut. He wants a healthy, if not roaring, economy when his term at the Fed expires and he hangs up his brief case. This will be his last term and he wants to go out on top.
