I know that assets within some 401k's are only allowed to be switched on either a certain day of the month, or only one time in a calendar month, etc. I'm not sure whether these restrictions manifest as much of an overall time-lag effect on market price-behavior. But I agree it's possible that as a result of what happened today, certain orders are being placed (or certain decisions are being made) that will not result in a trade execution yet for a number of days.
