you are quite correct. imo they're not even worrying about that anymore, all this is about is trying to restore confidence and pulling us back from the brink. the real economy has become totally secondary to the financial economy....it's quite a cozy arrangement for the US in fact, because no productive work seems needed anymore. simply print more dollars, and export them for goods and services. reward the high income power elite strata of the foreign countries thus indentured by boosting your asset bubble in which they recycle those exported dollars. sounds a bit like a fairy tale almost. too good to be true...
