Your post has some brilliant insight...particularly in hindsite!

Greenie rang the bell today with a 'surprise' 1/2 point cut...

I think a good point of reference would be what happened to MSFT in mid October after their 'surprise' earnings

siliconinvestor.com

It rallied for about a month...till it hit resistance in the low 70's.

Significant resistance on the NAZ around 3000...which is also consistent with your thoughts...

Nice Work!!!

How would your beliefs change if we see strong follow through tommorow leading into unemployment numbers on Friday we may actually see a 3 day rally here, would that change your burst theory at all?

Thank You

Matt

Rande,

Thanks for that one...printed it out and am going over some great insights.

Anyway, looking at Nasdaq point leaders ( from top 30 list):

Over 25% gain ( ones that seem to have a following, here): sdlibrcmjnprnewpqlgcvrtsmerqcienvrsnemlxseblmcdtbeasjdsuavnxextrntapepny

Over 15%, under 25%:
pmcsqcombrcd

"...5 trading gain days...will account for 90% of the monthly advance."

I really don't think I'm nimble enough to get in on these days and get out on the "off" days ( or find that I have already missed the boat by missing the pre-market). I'm glad I held onto the high-flyers ( thought about trading them out for the WCOM/ LU, etc. - which, by the way, did pretty well...).

Do you think it's worth daytrading at the risk of missing out on these bursts...lots of trading sites were conveniently down, etc.?

What are your thoughts - seems like you are out the high-flyers now waiting on the 2nd/3rd tiers...It's my understanding that you think the high-flyers will fall from here and the stealth rally will begin/ continue ( led by the lesser knowns). Is this correct?

Thanks, AJ

Rande. Remember When I said

that the last 2 big crashes ended with a 35 -45% above average volume day? Well, I would bet yesterday was that day again. Happy hunting...... John

rande- you might have just made one of the best calls of anyone on the street, i see a very good chance of your scenario unfolding, i can see 3000 on the naz this month before we get serious profit taking, dont fight the fed, sideling money was waiting on fed to come in, cfsb came out today looking for cisco back to low 50's short term, a lot of shorts trapped, i think it is safe to buy the dips again, will probably get a little backing and filling here, but i think the bulls are about to get "back in control", yes we will have more earnings warnings, and there might be some worry about the economy being weaker than originally thought, but ultimately, the best weapon a bull has is the fed, and they are back on our side
meaning, WE CAN BUY THE DIPS AGAIN
time to get agressive again imo, the leaders will move first, then the 2nd tier, then the otc bb dogs , the rotation has started
