Your conspiracy theory and my conspiracy theory can't both be true - I think Bush didn't want a rate cut because he wants a tax cut. This planet isn't big enough for both of our black helicopters. -g-

If Bush didn't want a rate cut, it would be because he hasn't yet asked for one and thus wouldn't get credit for leading AG around by the nose. The timing of the cut was as late as it could be without the risk of Bush's economic summit coming out with a call for lower rates and blocking AG from actually cutting rates. Also because he's not yet President and the rules for assigning economic credit and blame haven't been finalized yet, so fixing the economy now would make it more difficult to make the 2004 claim that the inherited economy was the worst in recorded history. -g-

There's always room for a tax cut. -g-
