A powerful book written by a very strong woman to have survived under these brutal conditions. I strongly recommend it, for even a cursory understanding of what life has been like in Cambodia. She endures illness and watches members of her family murdered, worked and starved to death, and now must live with these images forever etched in her memory. amazon.com
