2:08PM GM December sales down 18% (GM) by William Spain
General Motors (GM) announced on Wednesday that its combined car and truck sales in December fell 18 perecent from the year-ago period. The auto giant said the numbers reflect "in part the moderation that the industry has shown in recent months and an easing from last year's blistering December sales pace of 18 million units." Shares in GM were trading up $1.75 to $53.94.


All sectors of the economy (with the single exception of housing) are suffering due to the unprecedented credit orgy of the past five years. And housing *will* join us, hunched over the toilet, the morning after.
