My teacher friend needs more information.

Did your friend instruct their son to only do the squares by hand, or just provide the instruction so he would understand the real math involved?

I don't think she believed it. She is kind of hard to figure out. I think she is best described as a moderate. Her husband is a rightie like us, so he will win her over in time...maybe -g-
