nihim, you brought up a good point. if the cut was political then it was a bad move! Having said that, today the labor and manufacturing data will be released before market opens up. if both data are negative then the
rate cut is justified! I bet you my bottom dollar that they are both negative! Feds were knew that as of yesterday when they cut the rates! therefore the decision was not entirely political!

What will market do to-day? I believe this tax cut could work like dynamite if the market can digest the negative news that will bu out in about one hour from now! the slow down will be staggering (otherwise feds wouldn't have cut the rate by 0.50 points yesterday!!)

so we can rightly guess what the data will be, but we can't guess how the market will digest the bad news!! I love to buy a few shres of INTC and CSCO but I am willing to wait.

nihil-you wrote "it is useless to cut consumer's taxes. They will just waste it." Are you suggesting that the American taxpayer would use his/her tax cut money to buy products and services? Benefitting companies from finished products all the way back to raw materials? And of course benefitting those employed or will be employed by those companies. All of whom will of course pay taxes, albeit at the lower rate.

Nihil-you are an economic genius.
