Chic, I too am very suspicious about AG's surprise rate cut. There's some kind of bad news lurking out there...

Interesting that you base your views on a document that is largely copied from a government produced study. The government wants people to continue to work so their insatiable hunger for taxes will be nourished. The reason most lower and middle income folks don't save is because they are overtaxed. The premise that investment isn't occurring is patently false. Investment in the wheels that make the country work, i.e., private industry, is at an all time high. Folks learned that banks and government bonds weren't doing them any favors paying the paltry interest rates they offered.knc
