I wonder why AES isn't down in sympathy?

Calpine is a great company that has adapted to the economic environment it finds itself in. California chose to essentially ban high-producing power plants in favor of more environmentally sound plants -- but demand has soared, producing the present situation.

Now they are bringing in government regulation to try to "solve" the problem. If the cost of "rolling blackouts" of businesses was calculated, I think Californians would readily prefer to pay the actual cost of the electricity they need to keep their economy fully powered.

CPN is very savvy, from what I can see. I consider CPN to be a great long-term investment.
