<< It's not simply a matter of physically campaigning in those areas. It's having a campaign platform that meets the needs and values of people outside of large population centers.>>

And.. You have to have an Electoral College to do this??

Are the needs of those people that live "inside" these large population centers less than those people outside of large population centers? If we are all created equal, then the candidates should create a platform that will be appealing to the majority of the eligible voters, irregardless of their social-economic standing!

<Counties: Bush 2,434; Gore 677
Population of counties won by Bush: 143 million; counties won by Gore 127 million>

Don't forget these statistics.

Votes Received:
Gore 50,158,094
Bush 48,820,518

Electoral College
Gore 267
Bush 271

The "Homemaker" in Santee has used her Self-Appointed Proxy Power to invoke her Wisdom on the Masses.. Against the wishes of the Masses.. No matter how you want to try and "vindicate" the process..
With your explanations that somehow the Electoral Process "protects" the "Will" of Urban Voter from the Metropolitan Voter.. The Fact still remains, that the end result was that the "Will of the majority of Voters" was superseded in lieu of the "Will" of the Minority of Voters.. No matter how you try and justify it.. It is not the way a Democracy works!! Which makes us no better than some "rouge countries" Democratic Republic.
