>>Microsoft found out the problem of information laying around in computers (memos brandished in front of their faces during the trial). Who commits white-collar crime using what machine?...In summery: I don't think that management wants to have their every computer entry logged and recorded for future looksees

Terry,

I think you are making an error by starting from the assumption that those doing the buying and making decisions are criminals.

"Who commits white-collar crime using what machine?"

I think this is a question that management will want answered as it will catch the employees who are stealing and keep others from even trying.

As for the consumer market, it hasn't been about that yet. It will come but it will come later. The enterprise market and the infrastructure (iTrust) have to come first.

Steve...I don't have any good guesses for iTrust other than what the rumors say. I will think about it and try to come up with a good one that the rumor mill hasn't put out yet. I want bragging rights, too :-).

Regards,

Terry-

In spite of my comments about IDX's software, I'm as long as ever in their stock (and quite happy to be so).

While I agree with your uneasiness about surveillance, it could be argued that a corporation's right to protect its valuable data comes way before any sort of "big brother" concerns. In fact, as a matter of routine, almost every company with a network in place already has the built-in capability to track the applications, files and services requested by every one of its users over the network. The weak link is the insecure nature of passwords (written on post-its, etc.).

Also, perhaps after IDX makes some tweaks to its password bank offering (to make it more friendly to consumers, rather than just system administrators), ordinary folks will realize the tremendous benefits of dumping all their passwords and logging on with only a fingerprint.

Anyway, I still think the reader is a fine product, just looking forward to the next incarnation of the software...

OEM

Terry,

I was not referring to all of the numbers and puff stuff...but rather the comment that the analyst felt that an OEM agreement was coming with Motorola.

I would love to see such an agreement...and think it would really move IDX stock......Just like an OEM deal with Dell on laptops would.

I do think laptops and web phones will need this security....and that users will want it. I think it would be very cool to have a cell phone protected with a scanner. I'm always worried about others running up my cell phone bill....whether or not the phone company will foot the bill for fraud. I just hate the thought of getting ripped off....violated. Most people feel the same way.

I think once Motorola gets a few of these phones/devices out there....they will become the "rage"....everyone will want one.

I'm not kidding...it will be like gals wanting to carry mace in their purses or guys having a gun or baseball bat under the front seat of their car.<g> these devices will empower people.

Stick this stuff in retail stores for next Christmas...and I swear they will fly off the shelves. Motorola could return to $50 per share on products using IDX technology......He he...imagine that! IDX ignites MOT's return to greatness.

ps. Californians!....Turn off your lights!

I won't get a fingerprint reader. Reason I don't know what to do if I got it.
I have two kids who were system engineers for IBM and they have to get me into everything. I'm computer stupid. They also relay info to me that I request and update my computer every time they are in town.

However, my son runs a small cap company about the size of IDX and he definitely is going to get one for business, cohorts and home. Also the boy across the street was home from Silicon Valley where he is President of new corporation that has not gone public. He also saw my papers on the laptops and he is going to get one along with a few others for his top brass. Guess I see sales generating from the top down.

Checked the figures this weekend and it doesn't look good. Think the market is going down some more.
