Yup. And recall that Weimar Germany was among the most educated and "enlightened" of countries at the time, but they got caught up in emotion and "ends-justify-the means" politics and ignored the rule of law. Look what happened to them. But it couldn't happen here in the U.S., where we have judges like on the Florida Supreme Court to decide issues after the election. They'll take care of us, and make sure nothing bad ever happens here.

OT my last effort on unrelated politics...<Thanks. It is scary to see otherwise intelligent people who know so little about how our notions of government, freedom, liberty, and justice came to be, and how they interact.

And we wonder how the Germans just stood by and watched while the Nazi's took over? Under the right conditions, it could happen here, too, given the ignorance that abounds.

I heard the Nazis were elected to power - a LOT of people didn't like Jews and love authoritarian rule and being part of the power-gang. I also heard that Governor Wallace was elected to power as were all the elected officials who presided over segregation [which is apartheid by another name]. I heard that the Thomas Jefferson [a founding father] had slaves. I heard that the Nazis had slaves too.

It already happened in the USA, so the founding fathers must have got something wrong!

Anyway, why do people call them founding fathers. Did they have a lot of children? Were they actually all fathers? Were they good fathers? Or is the USA a paternalistic place where father knows best? Where were the mothers?

Don't worry about abounding ignorance. The one thing which abounds in all of us is ignorance. Battling through the fog of ignorance is what we do all day. I hope Globalstar succeeds in the battle.
