Aloha.. Yes it does seems scary.. Doesn't it!! Of course what you responded to in your statement <<They (voters in a Nation's minority party) don't count under the present system, and only lead to voter apathy.. Why even go to the polls.. My vote will not make a difference, because their are many more Democrats in my Nation. My vote is worthless.. I'll just stay home!! Which only strengthens the Political stranglehold a particular Political Party has within the confines of a Nation . >> is how the Electoral College works.. Not the one-person, one-vote, count-every-vote arguement.. It's hard to imagine that citizen's in a Democracy sit here trying to debate why the basic principles of a Democracy are not valid!! Maybe it's just me.. Guess I need to go back to the "Political Brainwashing Course". Heck, I guess you are correct!! The Electoral College is a great Institution.. As a matter of fact.. We will just let them decide who will be our Senators, and our Representatives, our School Board Members, Mayor of our Towns, Sheriff, and Fire Chief.. Yes.. That does sound like a much better alternative.. After all.. Why get mucked up in this whole Political Representation banter anyway!! Apathy is the best solution.. We'll just appoint someone to THINK for us!! Ahhh!! Yes.. Now that would be the Good Life.. I too hereby nominate Carter Patterson as my duly appointed elector. Whatever he says goes.
