true, but don't underestimate the CA problem's wider ramifications. the most important one is imo that it could eventually expose the quality of commercial paper in MM funds...this is a HUGE concern, as people have been led to believe those are completely safe. the credit insurers putting their seal of approval on one turd after another can not possibly cope with more than one really big failure...and the risk is that this could spread like the Herstatt wildfire did. remember, Herstatt was a TINY private bank...and the whole system , globally, trembled when it went under and couldn't settle out its open trades.
