I ALWAYS have a blended position in the market, T2. Right now, I have some naked calls, some naked puts, some long stock, some long stock covered by calls, some option straddles and some other option spreads.

Do you call that short? <G>

PS: Why does it matter where the stock is in relationship to it's high regarding a warning? Are you saying that there is a correlation, or that's relavent to a warning? How about AAPL? It's down more percentage wise than some of these, no?

Every warning has an impact on the market. Lots of little ones are just as responsible for where the market is as all the bigcap ones. I agree they the bigcaps put the most fear into all of us, but the quantity of warnings is of the most concern right now, to me.
