Let me just say, then, that your version of libertarianism is different from mine.

Assault is assault, whether between strangers or between parent and child.

I don't disagree at all that the social services mentality is in some cases out of control. But I personally don't accept a philosophy that says that a child should be at the complete mercy of her parents with no right of protection from government.
