what do insurance agents make on the insurance premiums

Depends on the kind of insurance. In a previous life I sold life insurance and annuities. As a district manager my commission was 55% of the first year premium, 25% of the second and 11% virtually forever as long as the policy was in force. Doesn't take into account the overides I was getting on the people under me.

Makes one wonder why I quit doing that:)
