Could you help me understand this? I suspect that if December was truly a disaster, January could be a pretty good month for PC sales.

What is your theory here? Did you read Niles' comments about INTC and processor demand? Did you read GTW warnings, or HWP insistance that their PC business is fine (in spite of channel checks that show demand is waning?)

From almost everything I've publically read, and from research I've done privately with analysts, I/they don't see that at all (for at least 2 quarters....)

Is this just a bullish feeling, or are you thinking further out than midyear? Are you buying in anticipation of possible upside in 2H, 2001? Is CPQ entering new markets that will help cushion lack of PC demand?

PS: Some hope: ....Finally, SOX index bumped up against stubborn resistance and sold off... However, if index can get above 700 it would be yet another bullish signal for techs as many traders use it as a barometer for overall sector.
