There is a very interesting article in IBD "Will Well-funded Start-ups crash regional Bells' Party?". It's about how companies like Yipes and Cogent trying to use gigabit ethernet with fiber backbone to compete for business customers from Bells, saying the business model of this architecture is better than DSL because they don't have to pay Baby Bells anything.
