Aus, there is a new Sanyo PD7 MP3 player shown on the Sanyo web site for $289.00. It is very small, with proportions similar to the QUALCOMM thin phone. It uses one AAA battery, which can give up to 5 hours listening time. It connects to a PC with a USB port, and it also appears to use a 64 mb MMC. It is PC but not Macintosh compatible. One of the reasons it gets so much life out of one battery is the use of the latest DSP chip from Texas Instruments. To find out more, take a look at recent news releases for TXN, which include the reference to the Sanyo product.

Regarding your father being informed shortly before his brokerage firm issued a downgrade on SNDK, that seems to me to be the way the system is supposed to work. Most of the time, an individual client doesn't even get a notice until the downgrade (or upgrade as the case may be) is already announced. Of course, by publicizing the downgrade, the brokerage firm, if it is a large and influential one, virtually assures that the fall in the stock price will be a self fulfilling prophecy.
