Scumbria, One possibility is that Micron and Rambus will agree on a royalty structure which is in line with Rambus' real contribution. It certainly is. There are a bunch of possible outcomes. The issue under discussion wasn't what the outcome was going to be -- it was whether it's in Micron's best interest to delay the outcome. Given the legal bills being run up, the uncertainty in the market around the lawsuit (both from investor and customer points of view), etc. Micron gains little benefit from delaying, and that benefit could get wiped out if the outcome goes against Micron.
