Freeus,

Well, if I didn't help you make any money, at least maybe I helped save you some losses. That's a successful day for me if ever there was one.

I'll look at BCP and WM later (gotta get back to work!).

I'm short PVN via puts, FWIW, but will probably close soon.

Hi freeus,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Another wild day, ya know.......

BCP: Volume way too low for me to say much. I don't have a lot of confidence in technicals with stocks trading those kind of volumes. FWIW, it looks overbought now, and also compare today's candle with yesterday's candle in PVN:

Not a good time to enter, I'd say, but I really can't say much with any reasonable degree of confidence.

If you like the sector, you might look at some of the bigger players instead.

WM: Very oversold right now, and testing chart support at about 46, which is also the site of the rising 50 day ema:

The lower shadows on the candles look hopeful, and usually indicate that there were plenty of buyers to be found when the stock traded down; this suggests a rally in the stock soon, off the 50 day, which has provided excellent support since the current uptrend began in March. In fact, the 50 day has only been breached during this time three times, all early in the trend, and for only a short time when it was:

One thing I'd be careful of is the formation of a head and shoulders. The first shoulder and head are now fully formed. Whether another shoulder is formed remains to be seen, but if it is, that would be the exit signal IMHO. So, if you go long here, the critical test will be the top of the first shoulder, or 50. If it rallies through that on good volume, then I'd say a test of 56, the 52-week high, would be next on the agenda.

Also note that within the current uptrend there was a somewhat modified cup and handle formation, but it had a kind of double bottom to it; this began forming at the end of October, then the handle ending Dec. 4 on low volume, then the classic explosion off the tip of the handle on big volume. That's a good omen for this stock.

The intraday chart also looks good. Note the reversal Doji formed today just before 2 pm. Technical indicators now showing buy signals. The critical test on the intrady is the downtrending 200 minute ema, currently at 48 1/2.

JMVHO, of course............
