Won't the subtext always be derision? Isn't that what the political threads came down to? Each side deriding the other? I never saw any cross communication between liberals and conservatives. But maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. Maybe if I combed the entire Bush thread and threw out the 95% of the posts with epithets and derision, I would find something in there that was worth reading. Maybe. But it isn't worth the effort. I think derision is probably the best you can expect.

C'mon, Poet! My post to Id was exactly that, I don't want to get into it on this thread, and said so in my post. My post to Id was a response to a post he made on this thread which I personally found offensive. I've not broken your rules here, and I don't intend to. The post I made on the other thread was sarcasm. You can see that. There's been a propensity on your thread to denigrate "right-wingers", with lots of derisive statements. Fair is fair. I absolutely refuse to argue with my friends, no matter what we disagree on, because I think it serves no useful purpose. I will, however, be more than happy to discuss Id's assertion on another thread, since he/she is not my friend. If you wish, I will not post on this thread. I sincerely apologize to you personally if I have offended you. That was not my intention.
