I don't think books are the same thing. Trading is a tough grind...if you were a trader and decided to take some time off to do something else for a while, writing a book would make sense. It's also a chance to satisfy the ego with 15 minutes of fame...most traders don't get any feedback or recognition for their accomplishments. People in all industries and walks of life write books.

Wanting to prostitute oneself day in day out to make calls in a trading room for a few bucks...I just don't see the comparison. Successful trades enjoy the freedom that comes from make your own hours...why ruin that by committing to "making calls" day in day out for what in comparison would be peanuts in subscription revenue?
