Brokered CD's [large houses will do this for you... put a hundo and 10 different banks = one million insured dollars]. Milken was brokering money out to all the S&L's who were buying his junk bonds because they were paying 1-3% more than other CD's in the nation. No one lost a dime... except the big stupid government with no eyes to see horses running until they all left the barn.

How about flyby night repositories like etrade or datek?
Of course long accounts won't be a problem.
I wonder what sort of capitulation it would take for those juicy BEAR accounts to vanish? Ah, but it was only a paper.... ERRRR... ELECTROGAIN....
