No. But I'm not betting the farm. Anything can happen.

On a related matter, ADCT laid off 400 today...

"ADC is ``trying to trim up the company and focus on profitability,'' said Michael Neiberg, an analyst with Chase H&Q.

The Integrated Solutions division, the focus of the layoffs, posted a pro forma operating profit of $10 million in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct 31.

George Notter, an analyst with Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, said the figure indicated an operating margin of about 6 percent.

By comparison, the high-flying Broadband Connectivity division, which makes such equipment as fiber-optic components, had a pro forma operating profit of $249 million, with a margin of 43 percent, Notter said.

He said the systems integration unit had added workers ''phenomenally'' in recent quarters. Part of the surge of new workers came through an acquisitions spree that snapped up four companies last year alone.

``I think they got a bit ahead of themselves in adding head count in that area,'' Notter said.

Hi Max, It appears the market's concerned about a possible warning. I'm attempting to buy about 10% more shares at $16-3/4 as I type.

Best regards, Tom
