Zeev,

Pons and Fleishman had a "neat" idea, the problem was that
they announced their result before they had one. No one has been able to reproduce the original claim, not even the originators. Just because "the establishment" claims it's hogwash doesn't mean it's right. Show me the data !!!

P.S. The $$$ going to "laser fusion" are really going to (nuclear) weapons effects simulation. Not so many $$ going to inertial confinement fusion research these days, even though results have been positive (but slow) over the past 30 years. For comparison, how long did it take the Sun to get it's fusion reactor going ? (probably had better funding, too)
