I was speaking more about the VC's behind the hundreds of dot.coms that never made it to the IPO phase. With endless cash burn, VC's are pulling the plugs in those just like a bank would foreclose on an ordinary small business loan.

But the VC's don't put the burden on the rest of us by weakening publicly-held institutions. They just get a tax writeoff at the public's expense.

Still cheaper than buying a dot.com IPO on opening day.

Greenie will be more worried about the manufacturers and consumer demand for all the stuff we are supposed to buy 365 days a year to keep the economy going.
