>>Is Alan Greenspan going to let the economy go into a tailspin?

Obviously not, or he wouldn't have cut rates before the scheduled meeting.

>>Right now the market is telling us Wall Street thinks the economy is worse off than previously thought.

Well yes and no. The rate cut may help financials, housing, autos and such. Is corporate IT spending tied to interest rates? Are communications companies going to increase capital spending just because interest rates are lower, but demand hasn't increased.

But as you can see, we got the emotional reaction, but the reality reaction is that it takes months to feel these cuts. In the meantime, the rate noose has left a red ring around our neck, and the red is ...well what runs in our arteries and veins.

It will heal, but it needs time.

The tech stock euphoria rally lasted a day. 2/3 of that wonderful rally is now wiped out. The tech market is still for sale.

All the people that jumped in thinking they had the bottom, are either NOW UNDERWATER or darn close to it if they weren't trading.
