Hi excardog,

Another clown weighs in on CA power crisis...

Not sure how to take your comment...Is he a clown because he believes that Californians are not exempt from the facts of life? That they are somehow entitled to reasonably expect cheap energy ad infinitum? Or because of their utilities infrastructure's unsecured speculative loans? Or because of the poorly handled deregulation? Not criticising, just asking you to elaborate so I can understand.

I don't often buy into Slider's perspectives, but I believe he is solidly correct in saying that debt levels will soon topple under their own weight, and that banks have been up to some rather creative accounting of their inner workings over the past few years. I'm not convinced the utilities should immediately declare bankruptcy, but I'm also not pleased to see the Federal Government stepping in either. Here's an idea: How about the consumers pay their power bills?

In any event, California is getting a well deserved dose of come-uppance, IMVHO, for being so unrealistic about consumer strength and overly fond of making sure the dark underbelly of the supply process takes place elsewhere.

Anyway....Good luck with your endeavors.

Regards to all,

Aggie
