The Xbox has a fan right now, according to the recently published pictures, but don't you believe that this fan is removed upon shipment?

How can they remove the fan? They're going to ship with a 733 MHz CPU. It will require either a fan, or a liquid nitrogen cooling system.

I will laugh mao, if the Xbox takes more than 30 seconds to start.

The way Microsoft worked around the slow boot time on the WebTV DISH box was simply never to let you turn it off. When you hit the Off button, the screen goes black, but an active black video signal is always being sent out. While the WebTV is turned off, the hard drive spins noisily every hour or so, so you really can't use it in your bedroom.

I would hope that they come up with a better workaround for slow Windows boot times on XBox. But it is undeniably a problem, and any solution will be suboptimal.

Dave
