The counting of undervotes and overvotes is too subjective to produce a reliable result. We'll never know. Period

What nonsense. The reporters, together with the elections officials, and accountants will categorize the ballots so that you can see what the final tally is by different standards. Dubious cases will be left the judgement of the accountant. We will have a result that reflects the content of the ballots.
