You are right. Adapting to the changing climate is another key factor in successful investing But we are talking historic crash after a 10 year bull run. I, as others could as well, probably cite hundreds of high-paid, so-called "professional" analysts who didn't have a clue. Very few ever did and VERY few individuals could have possibly not only anticipated the breadth of this drop but stood by their convictions. As stated earlier, only the stodgiest and most conservative investor did. The bellweathers of the past 10 years got slammed along with everything else. Lots are foolishly preaching "obvious overvaluations" after the fact.
