XBox, by itself is a money losing proposition (or profit neutral at best), just like PS1 and PS2 from Sony. It is the titles that will make money. Some of the bigwigs in the PS2 games market have signed up to write games for XBox too. So, maybe msft will make money. More importantly, it will have a presence in the living room, one which it lacks today. This can be used over time to generate pure profits. Or so must be the idea. Who knows what will happen ? Potential is there. Execution may be suspect.

PocketPC's problem is that it is too expensive. Whoever can afford it will buy that instead of PALM if they have any brains. I think msft is correct in not pursuing a me too product. It is difficult to dislodge palm in its own market. The wireless versions of pocketpc will be potent. But they are some time away.
