Speaking of hate mail, now feels like the right time to share with readers that during the last 4 ½ years I've been writing the Market Rap, one of my most reliable indicators that the market is going to tank has been the amount of "flame" e-mails I get. I find it absolutely astounding, but whenever I get a spike in the number of people trying to flame me, I can rest assured that the rally is done. It's uncanny. And even though I've had my biggest spike in the past week by a factor of 10, I didn't expect only a one-day rally. Maybe prospectively I need to let readers know when it happens, although that might dilute its usefulness as an indicator. What I do know is that it has never failed to work.
