" Name one other with a crystal clean background on SI that has the kind of following that Anthony commands for the price he commands"

Tom Dorsey

It is not necessary to berate and ridicule people in an extreme fashion a la Auric Goldfinger and Anthony to make money...but I bet you already knew that :-)

Re: Anthony
"Anthony@Pacific is indeed a character worth studying..if for nothing else than entertainment value"

Funny, I have had the "Dear Anthony" thread bookmarked on SI since it's inception, and I don't recall paying to read any of the 65,000 posts there, in fact Anthony has made over 14,000 posts himself, according to his profile, including many "calls", all for free. I wonder why so many read and post there? I thought it ironic, tangoexotica, that the link you provided in your post was to the ECNC thread, which is, as I recall, a turd of massive proportions. It's too bad so many didn't heed the warning of the "convicted felon", Anthony and others as they, as it turned out, correctly pointed out the shortcomings of that company. I really can't think of many companies that have been exposed on his SI thread where he wasn't dead on in his analysis. Of course, many of those on the wrong side of these trades have been seriously put out, and often show up with personal attacks and filthy talk, but I suppose it would be wrong of me to impute bad motives.

But of course, lets stay on topic.
So why teach? Maybe it is because we all know we will die. I think the proverb goes something like this; "A live dog is better off than dead lion, for the living know that they will die, but the dead know not any thing...Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest" Maybe human nature is such that we want to, and take pleasure in, passing on what we know so it won't be lost.
All sorts of people charge to teach various disciplines, I have in my profession, and people are generally willing to pay more for the better teachers.
As regards trading, maybe it's worth a lot of money to be taught by a knowledgeable and talented, if not controversial, personality in private without having to wade through all of the idiotic, mindless drivel we find on SI by persons with nothing better to do than breathe hatred and spew nonsense.
regards,
Harpo

<<Added to this is the synergistic effect that his group can have on a stock. I won't go so far as to call it stock manipulation. Let's just say it is synergism when they all pounce..thus helping his own position.>>

The AP Site is NO TokyoJoe site. It is a forum for members to exchange ideas and do collaborative research in search of trading vehicles. No one gives anyone investment advice, even when requested. Instead, participant share knowledge on trading strategies, and ideas on potential trades, and realtime trades as they happen. A potential trade is... ABC stock looks like a bloated pig with little sales and a hugh cash burn. There is a hugh lockup coming in a few days, and ABC will be on CNBC later. I may short a few if it runs into the CNBC pump. Let's all watch it. A real-time trade is when a participant announces he is making a trade at a specific trade at a specific time and price. For example, shorting XYZ stock at 36-3/16 (current price) this moment. The information is real time.

BTW, the A@P site is at anthonypacific.com

There you can read member reviews as well as member benefits. I have been a member of the site since it's inception, as are a lot of other subscribers, folks I respect and call friend. Check out the site and give it a try before you jump to any conclusions.

"Though, I do have to wonder how much he is making given that he couldn't pay interest on a 20,000 fine. Maybe he bought too many guns and cars that year."

Those people that have everything in the name of their spouse can make out like a bandit...until it is time for divorce :-)

I know a gal so layered and sheltered in secrecy with on shore and off shore corporations and bank accounts that she looks like a poor starving student on paper. She doesn't even own a car in her name. It is amazing what experienced international lawyers can come up with to protect clients.

It will be interesting to see what happens when she finally gets married. I would hate to be the one that draws up that pre-nuptial agreement.

There are some people that don't flaunt their wealth all over the kingdom.

This is the most pertinent point you make, but can you show me one stock that I ever called that spammed or touted and rallied the world to short that wasn't overvalued, overhyped, or fraudulent??

The vast majority of my posts and calls are very benign, i call it turd and POS and stuff like that,,But certainly you can't be saying that I am more pwerful with 300 other members that Goldman Sachs with their million customers or CSFB with their Re-iteration buy recs every 8 days on HAND..

IM short HAND and a bunch of other stocks..I know you dont believe that my posts are actually responsible for the stocks fall from 90 to 36 and it's ultimate fall to what will be soon single digits..

These stocks will all fall on their own with or without me.I just identify, analyse and choose a side . I dont cause any of them to do anything

The day GSCO put out a Buy rec on ETYS at 66 ...I put out the Sell Short rec, so let me ask you who is more powerful me or GSCO?

Who is more right?
