Major Linux distributor sets sights on handhelds:

Thursday, January 04, 2001 - 8:22 AM EST

According to ZDNet UK, SuSE, a leading distributor of the Linux operating system has their sights set on the handheld market. An undisclosed source told ZDNet, "there is massive interest in Linux on next generation handhelds like the iPAQ and other high performance handheld devices that have been announced, SuSE is planning to use this as its entry point into the embedded market." I believe this is the first major Linux company to make mention of their plans to enter the PDA market which could be a sign of things to come.
