Really, this is not a comment on anything or anybody in particular. It just came to mind is all, always amused me, so I thought I'd share it.

Don't know if you ever read Jack Kerouac's On The Road or not. It was written in about two weeks in Mexico by Kerouac who was drunk and flying on amphetamines the whole time. Nevertheless, it's considered the anthem of the beat generation, and a precursor to the sixties. It's also considered to be a classic......but not by Truman Capote. Arguably one of the best writers this country has ever produced (IMHO, the best short-story writer), Capote's evaluation was:

That's not writing. That's typewriting!"
