True, once the Ad-venture capital has dried up, who's going to supply the fuel for the next bonfire? If you look at the balance sheets of some of the biggies it's pretty sobering how much debt they carry on their books...T has 62 billion and they just cut their dividend. Along with other things, I think Greenspan saw the flight of capital from corporate bonds to Tbills and rushed the cut. Have we seen any articles yet on how burned these VC's must be if they didn't pass the buck onto investors via IPO's. It would be interesting to take a look at Vulcan Ventures investments and see how they are doing. The just pulled out of another company last week, a potential IPO.

I just reread Rande's post looking into the coming year and there is a lot to agree with there. I'm starting to think that slow albeit steady growth in some of the NYSE stocks would be preferable to this frenetic trading we've had to do to stay above water. Sooner or later the volatility starts to wear you down. Maybe that's a sign I've capitulated. <g>
