I have been hearing many rumors about another retailer that is commonly an anchor store. I wonder if they will be the next retailing giant to file for bankruptcy protection or just plain go out of business. There are only so many dollars to go around and I believe the internet has had an impact on retail B&M stores. A friend of mine was doing a price match at a department store. They wouldn't honor it because the competition had recently closed their local store. Her response was that their online store was just as much competition because they took her money just the same and delivered to her doorstep. She didn't get the price match but the retailer understood the point.
