Hi Bob: Thanks for the kind words. You are right, I have a strong memory of '98, riding it all the way down and back up again, thankfully un-margined. This was the trigger for me to learn more about market timing. In regard to technique, the main tool I'm using is an Excel spreadsheet which interfaces to Quotes Plus 2 (http://www.qp2.com/). My main data spreadsheet is now north of 27 megs, but I link it to several different groupings of charts. Conversion to HTML and uploading is completely done by EXCEL (http://users.chartertn.net/lolney/market.htm). Excel allows one to arrange the data both in tables and charts and with Excel's conditional formatting, statistical analysis and visual basic, it makes it much easier to pick out the historical patterns and extremes. leo
