CJ,
I just finished reading some more TA. It covered sector rotation through an economic cycle. Interesting stuff.

Early Expansion - Transportation, Technology
Middle expansion - Services, Capital Goods
Late Expansion - Basic Materials, Energy
Early Contraction - Consumer staples
Late Contraction - Utilities, Financials, Consumer Cyclicals

The market has been good to Energy but the oil index is looking dicey at this point.

Consumer staples I haven't followed but I think MO falls in that area and it took a hit last week along with Drugs.

Utilities are somewhat like bonds unless you have CA utility companies, but that is a different story.

Financials are touted as being the first to recover by some, but it appears they are the last to benefit in the economic cycle.

Consumer cyclicals? Washing machines or automobiles? Probably both. I'll have to dig on that one.<g>

The transportation indexes don't look bad at this point.

Technology is starting to be acquired by value investors. Classic value investors are early adaptors and want to get to the party early with a minimum risk. Maybe there is hope for $50 in January 2002.<g>
