looking for continuing weakness in blimps like JNPR, BEAS,PMCS, RBAK, and those that have lost all support like NTIQ, ONIS, EPNY, GSPN, CMRC, IWOV, CORV, NUFO, NUAN, WEBM, RIMM, KREM,AGIL, HAND etc. Reversals could be bear flag reversals, and set the stage for further downside. I see scenarios like CORV,PPRO, TUTS, EFNT enfolding as earnings will be released in the upcoming 3 weeks.

Notice how the biotechs are screaming down after hours on Friday. I have closed a second put position in IDPH but keep the BBH. PDLI is also down. It seems that interest in this sector is ebbing and wanning and will continue to do so. Very good post from Barron's. WE have said before that the ovresupply in the computer and peripheral sector has been apparent even WHILE the analysts were in the midst of upgrading these stocks. Not only is capital spending financed by loans but even employee wages as well. If you check the figures of some of the leading 'blimps' you will see that employees wages are negative which means they are paid not from profits but through loans.

JNPR Profit per Employee : ($26,967)
BEAS Profit per Employee : ($8,723)
NTIQ Profit per Employee : ($102,884)
EPNY Profit per Employee : ($80,251)

Hi Kendall, do you believe the article you quoted ? I couldn't tell from your post.

If you believe that this was a "an asset bubble or new-technology-driven capital-spending" kind which causes "deflationary busts, sharply declining equity prices, a weakening currency and a downward spiral in the economy.", then we are not even close to a bottom. I say that since the downward spiral in the economy, weakening curency, etc. has barely started.

But you also say you feel we are near a bottom. How can that be ?

Regards,
Chris
