Hmmm... well, it couldn't hurt to try it. I invested a little money on trial periods on various software packages before settling on RQ. In fact, my reviews are in this thread from back in the summer time.

I also checked out Investor/RT (www.linnsoft.com) which was one of the best all around packages but suffered from user interface problems and stability. They have a 1 month license for $50 I think. Best support I've ever experienced for software.

I looked at MetaStock (www.equis.com). Best UI of any trading package but I didn't like the backtesting features (couldn't b/t a basket of stocks).

If I had deep pockets, I would probably be using RQ, MetaStock, and Investor/RT. If I could choose 2 out of 3: RQ and I/RT. Between those 2, it's a hard choice.

I suggest signing up for a month of Quote.com, signing up for the trial period for RQ, and buying a 1 month license of Investor/RT.

Good luck,
Sam
