It is certainly a very terrible circumstance, but if that family had no guns, then the kid would have used a hatchet or a kitchen knife, the kid was pathetically bent on vengeance against his parents and family, any weapon would do... but just because that stupid kid chose a firearm some how makes the situation more provocative... blaming the instrument is like blaming the messenger... why don't we just ban and register all kitchen knives already.....

Kids will be kids. They don't need guns. Two recent events in and around my town involved a teenager decapitating his mother and another young man used a pitchfork to kill two small neighbor children.

Maybe the wrong-wing (left-wing is too neutral a term) crowd should try to ban all sharp-edged and pointed items And while they are at it, any blunt object like hammers and rocks. Oh yeah, and motor vehicles are also used in homicides and robbery escapes.

Whatever happens just don't blame the perpetrator; it's obviously the instrument's fault.
