Just one of my arguments for higher prices in the Nasdaq in the next few weeks.

--I have not been bullish and trying to call a bottom for the last 10 months.

--In fact I have stayed out of the market since the Spring and only recently started looking for a bottom in the Nasdaq the week the FOMC met on Dec 19th. The broad market on the Nasdaq bottomed a day later on 12/20-12/21. That is the true bottom (even if only short-term) I believe. I don't believe the market bottomed a few days ago, I believe it bottomed a couple of weeks ago.

Some of my prescient calls recently you can check out:

Predicting the Fed would cut last week and the Nasdaq would see a 300 point pop.

Bullish and buying before the rate cut
Message 15109742

Another accurate prediction of the Fed cutting early
Message 15109241

Was warning shorts not to get to greedy and a little birdie chirping something about a Fed ease

Major positive divergences

Good and accurate discussion. As an operations manager of a pretty good-sized plant, I live everyday with the problems you are discussing. The ISO, EPA and DEP stay up late every night plotting how to make my life more difficult and my operation more costly. Over the long term I think we are headed in the right direction with the environment but there has to be more common sense during times of duress. This shift to all Gas is just nuts and we are really setting ourselves up for some problems down the line. Being on the opposite coast, maybe there is something going on in California that I do not understand but in my opinion they are reaping the product of their very restrictive environmental policies. The solution to their problems is going to very painful to the consumer in the end.

So far deregulation seems to be working in my part of the woods. Prices are stable and we are building more capacity. But I will admit that the jury is still out. One last thought. We are past the point of no return and I can't see how we could ever go back to regulation without a complete break down of the system. Have a good weekend.
