kha vu,

Agreed. Corning is about as solid as any high tech company can get in terms of vision and execution.

Late last year and last week, I traded part of my "legacy portfolio" stocks - INTC and CSCO - for additional shares of GLW, SEBL, BRCM and EMC. Every decade produces its new leaders, and I firmly believe the old generals are being gradually replaced by new ones.

I subscribe to a private financial information service which gives GLW's price target (12 months, assuming a 30 yr treasury of 5.65%) of 155. Lower rates in the future will tilt the price even further.

Cheers,
Ibexx

Interesting how journalists make JDSU's acquisition of SDLI a fait accompli

But it made the components that Corning needs to compete with Lucent Technologies and the SDL subsidiary of JDS Uniphase in the lucrative market for submarine cable — the lines that cross oceans and make the global Internet a reality.
